Following the success of its musicals in recent years, St Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar, once again is delighted to present its TY musical of 2017, Schools Will Rock You, based on the songs of the legendary band Queen and the iconic Freddie Mercury.

"Oh the thinks you can think"! St Joseph’s transition year students, Castlebar, have been doing more than thinking ‘thinks’ these past few weeks. They have been busy rehearsing and bringing to life all of the favourite Dr Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and JoJo and many more wonderful characters in their performance of Seussical The Musical. This show, this magical musical extravaganza, will take you from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus and to the invisible world of the Whos.

Castlebar MDS getting ready for special Fiddler on the Roof performance

Award winning Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society is currently in full rehearsal swing for its production of Fiddler on The Roof, which will be staged in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, over three nights from Thursday December 3 to Saturday December 5. Last year the society leaped to success with its production of Oklahoma and received the AIMS Award for Best Actress in a supporting role which was won by Donna Ruane for her unforgettable portrayal of Aunt Eller.

Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society will be holding auditions on Monday August 24 and Tuesday August 25 at 7pm for its upcoming production, Fiddler on the Roof, in the TF Royal Theatre Castlebar. Those interested in joining the chorus are encouraged to attend on the Monday night, while those looking for a principal part can audition on the Tuesday night.
